Clean water storage tank - Cleaning & disinfection

Cold water storage tank cleaning and disinfecting involves draining the tank, thoroughly cleaning the interior surfaces to remove any sediment, debris, or biofilm buildup, and then disinfecting the tank with an approved biocide to eliminate harmful bacteria, such as Legionella. After the cleaning and disinfection process, the tank is refilled, and water samples are tested to ensure the water quality meets safety standards. This process helps maintain a safe and hygienic water supply.
Independent Legionella Testing

Independent Legionella water testing is the process of collecting water samples from a building’s water systems, such as taps, showers, and cooling towers, to be analysed by an accredited laboratory for the presence of Legionella bacteria. This testing is performed by a third-party organization to ensure unbiased results. The goal is to assess the risk of Legionella contamination, which can lead to Legionnaires' disease, and verify that water hygiene measures are effectively controlling the bacteria, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Remedial Work

These may include repairing or replacing corroded pipes, upgrading insulation, installing temperature controls to prevent bacterial growth, removing redundant pipework, cleaning and disinfecting water tanks, and fixing any faults in the plumbing system. The goal of these remedial actions is to ensure the water system is safe, efficient, and compliant with health standards, reducing the risk of harmful bacteria like Legionella.

Drinking Water Analysis

What parameters are included in Drinking Water analysis?
Our drinking water analysis includes testing for Total Viable Count at 37°C and 22°C, Coliforms, and E.coli.

How long does the analysis take?
The analysis is typically completed within 3 days after sample receipt.

What results are most important?
The presence of Coliforms and, most critically, E.coli should be absent in drinking water, as E.coli indicates contamination by fecal matter.

Are there any guidelines to follow?
While EEC guidelines no longer set specific upper limits, trend analysis is recommended. Our team is available to provide guidance upon request.

Food Preparation Water Analysis

What parameters are included in the analysis?
We test for Total Viable Count at 37°C and 22°C, Coliforms, E.coli, Clostridium perfringens, and Enterococci. These additional tests are often requested in meat preparation environments, such as abattoirs.

Legionella Analysis

Which locations require Legionella testing?
Legionella testing is essential in locations such as air conditioning units, hot tubs, spas, and jacuzzis.

How often should Legionella testing be done?
The frequency of testing varies depending on location and client specifications. Typically, spas, jacuzzis, hot tubs, and showers are tested monthly, while air conditioning systems are tested quarterly or bi-annually.

How long does Legionella analysis take?
Legionella analysis takes approximately 10 days after receiving the samples. However, if any presumptive colonies are identified during the 10-day incubation period, clients will be notified immediately.

Swimming Pools, Spas, Jacuzzis, and Hot Tubs

What parameters are included in the analysis?
We test for Total Viable Count at 37°C and 22°C, Coliforms, E.coli, and Pseudomonas. Testing for Staphylococcus aureus is available upon request.

How long does the analysis take?
The analysis is completed within 3 days of receiving the samples.

What results should I be aware of?
The presence of Coliforms, E.coli, or Pseudomonas aeruginosa would necessitate the immediate closure of the pool, spa, hot tub, or jacuzzi to ensure safety.

Recreational Waters

What parameters are included in the analysis?
Recreational waters are tested for Total Viable Count at 37°C and 22°C, Coliforms, E.coli, Clostridium perfringens, and Enterococci.

What results should I be aware of?
In natural water sources, it’s common to find faecal indicators like Enterococci and E.coli, often introduced by mammals, birds, and fish.
